2024 Season Membership
Welcome back for another season at the River Bend Community Center!
Last year was very successful for the RBCC. The 2023 membership was the highest in over 20 years!
The pool filtration system was replaced last year, thanks to the capital campaign. This greatly improved the overall filtration and flow of the water, as well as significantly reduced the amount of time board members had to manually backwash the pool.
NOTE: The RBCC Board is working on the dates for a number of events including our pool clean-up/workdays as well as our annual meeting. STAY TUNED!
The membership categories are not changing for 2024. They remain the same as in 2023.
However, the membership fees have increased by $25 for each category due to increasing operational costs as well as the increase in minimum wage:
Regular $450
Adult Only $400
Single Parent $400
Senior $270
Super Senior $320
Extended Family $550
Effective July 5th, annual membership dues are reduced by 50%
Our online membership application is now ready and can be reached via the below link:

The RBCC committees also organize neighborhood social events throughout the year such as the Spring Fling, Ladies Night Out, the Fourth of July Parade & Games at the pool, Men's Night Out, the East vs. West Football Classic and the Children’s Halloween Party.
We hope you have noticed the five new tables in the baby pool area. They were financed by proceeds from one of the New Orleans Night Friday night dinners. The tables will soon have brass plates inscribed "Thank you Paul Raphel for your contributions to RBCC".
Paul and Jan Raphel moved to St. Louis from Maryland in 1974. Their daughter Allison lost her hearing following a childhood illness, and they moved here so she could attend St. Joseph's School for the Deaf. Paul was on their Board of Directors for many years and served as president. Their son Paul graduated from Chaminade High School in 2000. Paul was president of the Father's Club of Chaminade.
The family attended Incarnate Word Church where Paul was a Eucharistic Minister for years. Another ministry of the church was the Rural Parish Workers. One Saturday a month Paul and the other volunteers traveled to the Missouri Bootheal to build and repair homes, cut wood for heating, and complete various jobs to help the people in the area. Paul also joined a group that dressed as clowns and visited hospital patients; his alias was "Ducky".
Over twenty years ago Paul bought, assembled, and donated the two hexagonal picnic tables that are at either side of the deep end of the pool. They have been long-lasting gifts. In River Bend, Paul was part of the "maintenance crew". He was the go-to guy for solving problems at what was then known as The Bath and Tennis Club; year after year, anytime there was a need, he had the ideas and skills to get the job done. In 2005, after thirty-one years in River Bend, Paul and Jan moved. In November, 2020, Paul and Jan had Covid. Jan recovered, but Paul was unable to get well, and he died in June, 2021. We lost a wonderful neighbor and friend. The tables are our small way of honoring Paul.
We love our members, so feel free to visit during normal business hours.
